Amendments to the Occupational Safety and Health Act – employers’ obligations clarified

Amendments to the Occupational Safety and Health Act are entering into force at the beginning of June, the aim of which is to prevent incapacity for work, promote coping at work and, thus, improve the opportunities for employees to extend their careers while also maintaining their work ability. Instead of introducing new occupational safety obligations for employers, the existing obligations were specified.

Ground rules promote safety in work outside the workplace 

Regular communication and agreeing on work methods are good ways of supporting those who work outside the actual workplace. According to the annual Occupational Safety and Health Panel, of workplaces where work outside the workplace occurs, more than half had agreed on common, clear and open work rules with the employees. This time, a total of 545 occupational safety representatives and managers responded to the survey.
